Christopher Bell Has Worst Day At Worst Possible Time
1 year agoEverything was set up for Christopher Bell to do well at Phoenix this weekend. However, the writing may have been on the wall. Bell qualified outside the top ten and never truly had much of a chance on Sunday afternoon. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver managed to get up to fifth after 86 laps. Brake problems began to become more and more of an issue for the No. 20 Toyota. Then on lap 108, it happened. The right front brake rotor exploded. That caused Bell to slam hard into the wall of Turn 3. Bell's day and chances at a title were over. He did have quite the run but to finish fourth in the chase was a sad ending to what was a heck of a season.
