Christian Walker Goes Yard In Loss To Colorado
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBI, and a strikeout in a 6-4 loss to the Colorado Rockies on Monday. Walker was responsible for 3/4 of the D-Backs run production in this one. He put Arizona on the board in the top of the first inning with a double off Chris Flexen to score Corbin Carroll. He then victimized Flexen once again with a two-run blast, his 25th of the season, in the top of the sixth with Lourdes Gurriel Jr. on base. Walker has now homered in 2-of-3 contests and is slashing a ridiculous .393/.414/.786 with three home runs, eight RBI, and one stolen base over his last seven contests. The 32-year-old has been a reliable top-five option at first base all season and should continue to rake as the Diamondbacks look to make a playoff push over the final two months. Overall, he's rocking a .270/.342/.523 batting line to go along with 25 home runs, 76 RBI, and eight stolen bases over 430 at-bats.
