Christian Villanueva Out Again
7 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Christian Villanueva (hamstring) is out again Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies. Villanueva was a late scratch on Monday, so Tuesday's absence is a surprise. He should be able to pinch hit. Villanueva's injury comes at an unfortunate time during his visit to Coors Field against left-handed starter Kyle Freeland. Villanueva is riding a nine-game hitting streak and is mashing lefties with a 1.759 OPS. The 26-year-old rookie has been the Padres best player this season, rocking a .355 average, seven home runs and 16 RBI. Hopefully the injury isn't serious and he'll shortly return to the Padres and fantasy lineups. Infielder Cory Spangenberg will replace Villanueva at the hot corner.
