4 years agoBoston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez is getting the day off on Saturday as the team faces Spencer Howard and the Philadelphia Phillies. Kevin Plawecki will be the team's starting catcher and he is batting eighth in the game. Vazquez has been a workhorse behind the plate this year, appearing in 41 of the team's 46 games. He hasn't produced much power yet as he has just three home runs on the year, but he has a decent .264 batting average to go along with 20 RBI, 21 runs and four stolen bases.
