Christian Moore Has "Really Good Chance" To Make Opening Day Roster
4 mins agoMLB.com's Jonathan Mayo thinks that Los Angeles Angels infield prospect Christian Moore has "a really, really good chance to make this team." The Angels have notoriously been very aggressive with promoting their young prospects despite having minimal professional experience. Moore was taken eighth overall in 2024 out of the University of Tennessee and didn't disappoint, slashing .347/.400/.584 with 12 extra-base hits and 20 RBI in 25 games while finishing the year at Double-A Rocket City. The 22-year-old will probably struggle to make consistent contact, therefore being a drain in batting average, if he makes the Opening Day roster out of camp as the starting second baseman, but fantasy managers in AL-only leagues should be intrigued by his power abilities at second base. Moore's biggest competition at the keystone could be Luis Rengifo, but he could also see time at third or shortstop.
