Christian McCaffrey Remains Elite Option Against Top Rush Defense
12 months agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey had a typical McCaffrey performance last week in a 31-13 win in Seattle, dropping 114 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the Seahawks to go with five receptions for 25 yards. While McCaffrey's status as the overall RB1 this year may not be surprising, the degree to which he's monopolized San Francisco's backfield touches is pretty incredible. In the past six games, backup Elijah Mitchell has a total of 12 non-garbage time rush attempts, while McCaffrey has 94. In Week 13 McCaffrey squares off against the top-rated Philadelphia Eagles run defense, who have only allowed 9.9 standard fantasy points per game to running backs. McCaffrey is matchup-proof though, attributable not only to his rushing skill but his involvement in the passing game, as he's averaged 5.7 high-percentage targets per game in that same six-game span. Fire up CMC once again as the fantasy's alpha RB1 on Sunday.
