Christian McCaffrey Ends Touchdown Streak, Productive Anyway
1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey will remain tied with Baltimore Colts Hall of Famer Lenny Moore for the most consecutive games with a touchdown at 17 after failing to score in Sunday's 34-3 rout of the Jacksonville Jaguars. McCaffrey had a useful fantasy day regardless, finishing with 95 yards on 16 carries and six catches on 10 targets for 47 yards. Head coach and play-caller Kyle Shanahan did all he could to get McCaffrey the record-breaking touchdown, bringing him back into the game with the second unit and force-feeding him in Jacksonville territory but ultimately coming up a few yards short. Fantasy managers accustomed to touchdowns may have been disappointed, but McCaffrey was much more efficient on the ground in this one than during San Francisco's losing streak, averaging 5.9 yards per carry versus 3.7 across the losses. CMC will once again be an elite option in Week 11 when San Francisco hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
