2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (ankle) is dealing with a mild ankle sprain and is day-to-day, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. McCaffrey appeared to emerge from a Week 17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders without any issues after seeing 25 touches. It is encouraging that the team is calling the sprain mild, but anytime the oft-injured running back pops up with an issue, it is worth monitoring. Keep an eye on his practice reports throughout the week as the 49ers gear up to face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18. Rookies Tyrion Davis-Price and Jordan Mason would probably share the load if McCaffrey is held out of the regular-season finale.--Matt T - RotoBaller
