Christian McCaffrey A Top Play In Week 1
3 years agoCarolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey will likely reaffirm his status as a top fantasy performer in his Week 1 matchup against the Jets. McCaffrey missed 13 games last season due to ankle, shoulder, quad injuries, though he still handled an average of 25.3 touches per game in three contests where he was healthy- as well as a whopping 926 total touches through his first three seasons, second in the league during that span. The Panthers have indicated that the 25-year-old will handle a large workload once again in 2021, meaning fantasy managers shouldn't even think twice about starting McCaffrey in all formats against the Jets. New York's defense was solid against the run but struggled against receiving backs, allowing the fourth-most targets and receptions to halfbacks in 2020. McCaffrey could finish as the overall RB1 in Week 1.
