Christian Kirk A Decent WR3 Play Against Colts
1 year agoJacksonville Jaguars Wide Receiver Christian Kirk enjoyed a breakout first season in Duval last year, putting up 84 catches, 1,108 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns. The former Arizona Cardinal enjoyed career highs across the board, leading to a PPR finish of WR12, dominating from his natural slot position for much of '22. If not for Calvin Ridley's arrival and presumed ascension into the immediate WR1 role for the Jags, Kirk would have been a much higher priority target in 2023 fantasy drafts. With all the buzz around Ridley and the vast arsenal of weapons in the Jags offense, Kirk is a semi-risky WR3 play against the Colts in Week 1. He will also most likely draw the coverage duties of premier slot corner Kenny Moore II, giving fantasy managers, even more pause rolling Kirk out in starting lineups. It remains to be seen if Ridley will be the alpha in this passing offense, though, so don't be surprised if Kirk leads the team in targets on Sunday.
