Christian Encarnacion-Strand Making Strong Case For Promotion
2 years agoCincinnati Reds first base prospect Christian Encarnacion-Strand remained hot on Thursday for Triple-A Louisville. The slugger went 5-for-6 with a pair of home runs, a double and six RBI. The 23-year-old dominated in Spring Training, but was unable to crack a spot on the Opening Day roster and then was sidelined after suffering from a slightly herniated disc in his back that delayed his start to the 2023 season. Since his recent return, the slugger has nine hits over his first 19 at-bats with three homers and eight RBI. Encarnacion-Strand has clear power in his game and with first baseman Wil Myers (illness) on the 10-day injured list, he is making a strong case for a promotion. With a home park that favors hitters and being one of the best power hitters on the farm, Encarnacion-Strand is someone to keep an eye in redraft leagues.
