Christiaan Bezuidenhout Rolling Into Wells Fargo Championship
11 months agoFantasy managers will have no problem checking the recent form box for Christiaan Bezuidenhout this week. The 29-year-old South African has finished inside of the top-30 in eight of his 11 PGA Tour starts in the 2024 calendar year, and he posted a T3 in his most recent start two weeks ago at the DP World Tour's ISPS Handa Championship. And while he may not fit the bomber narrative this week, he has fared well on long and difficult courses recently and he matches up well statistically with Quail Hollow. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks as the sixth best adjusted course fit, 26th in weighted strokes gained on approach, 15th on approach from 200+ yards, 25th in weighted around-the-green play, sixth in Poa putting, and third in bogey avoidance. At a mere $7,600 salary on DraftKings, Bezuidenhout projects as a safe option with top-20 upside at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout A Very Risky Play At Bay Hill
1 month agoChristiaan Bezuidenhout has had a primarily mediocre year aside from a T-4 finish at the WM Phoenix Open. In his last two events, the Genesis Invitational and Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches, he finished T-39 and T-42. At the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill this week, players must excel at hitting off the tee and long irons, with the course measuring 7,460 yards. Bezuidenhout ranks 163rd in strokes gained off the tee, 154th in total driving, and 134th in approaches from 175-200 yards. He makes up for this around the green and putting where he's ranked 24th and third in strokes gained. He's still a hazardous play this week, and it's best to avoid him at all costs in DFS.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout Hard To Trust At Cognizant Classic
1 month agoChristiaan Bezuidenhout has played in five events so far in 2025, missing just one cut and finishing in the top 40 in all other events, including a T4 finish at the WM Phoenix Open. He now looks ahead to the Cognizant Classic, an event where he has a decent history, posting results of T25, T42, and a missed cut in 2024. PGA National is one of the most difficult approach tests on tour, and this is an area where Bezuidenhout has struggled this year. He currently ranks 158th in strokes gained on approach, losing 9.291 strokes to the field over his first five events. Success at this course will also likely depend on avoiding around-the-green play, and Bezuidenhout ranks 91st in greens in regulation at 69.01%. He is also in just the 11th percentile in proximity from 150-200 yards, a range that accounts for 48.1% of all approach shots at this course. Given his performances in key stats, fantasy managers may want to avoid Bezuidenhout at his price tag of $7,500 on DraftKings this week.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout A Risky Option At Genesis Invitational
2 months agoChristiaan Bezuidenhout surprised many with his T4 finish at the WM Phoenix Open last week. The 30-year-old South African impressively gained four and a half strokes from tee-to-green and over seven strokes putting, remaining in contention throughout all four rounds. However, that tournament marked the first time he gained strokes on approach since August of 2024, a stretch of golf that included seven other measured starts. Bezuidenhout may not fare as well as last week, as he ranks 66th in approach play, 68th in total driving, 70th in opportunities gained, and 68th in par 5 scoring over the last 36 rounds. These stats are typically a recipe for disaster at Torrey Pines, and fantasy managers should consider tempering their expectations for Bezuidenhout following last week's dominant performance.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout Looks To Turn Around Ball-Striking In Phoenix
2 months agoIt has been a slow start for Christiaan Bezuidenhout through his first three events of the young season. With two T40s and a missed cut, his play off the tee and on approach has severely hindered him thus far, averaging -0.603 in strokes gained on approach and an astounding -1.103 off the tee in that span. Couple that with his limited and rocky history at TPC Scottsdale, and he makes an easy case for looking elsewhere this week.
