Chris Thompson Could Produce In Return To Action
6 years agoWashington Redskins running back Chris Thompson is set to return to the field Monday night after missing extended time with a rib injury. If indeed his unbridled participation in practice this week yields a full comeback, he could be in line to produce right out of the gate. The Eagles have allowed the fourth-most receptions to running backs, which, as we know, is precisely where Thompson makes his money. Philly's defense is exploitable in several ways, but expect the Redskins to resort to the "death by a thousand cuts" tactic that has worked for them for much of the season. Both Thompson and Adrian Peterson could be poised for solid outings against an Eagles team that has failed to neutralize opposing backfields.
