Chris Sale Tosses 40-Pitch Rehab Game
1 year agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale (shoulder) began his rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Worcester. He went two-plus innings, allowing one hit, two walks and no runs while striking out three. Sale is expected to make at least one more start this weekend for Worcester before he returns to Boston, according to MLB.com. The left-hander has missed two months of action after sustaining a stress fracture in his scapula in early June. Over 59 innings this season, Sale owns a 4.58 ERA and 1.19 WHIP but was striking out batters at a 28.5% clip before the injury. Fantasy managers should continue stashing the 34-year-old and hope he returns soon after his next rehab appearance.
