Chris Sale Reinstated Ahead Of Tuesday's Season Debut
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have activated left-hander Chris Sale (ribs) from the 60-day injured list. He will be the team's starting pitcher in Tuesday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The team optioned pitching prospect Brayan Bello to Triple-A to clear a roster spot for Sale. The 33-year-old has yet to pitch in the majors this year as he's been recovering from a rib cage fracture. During his minor league rehab assignment, he threw 11.1 innings and allowed three earned runs while striking out 19 batters. The team will likely be a bit cautious with his pitch count out of the gate, but he's still someone worthy of starting in all fantasy formats.
