Chris Sale Exits Early With Left Shoulder Soreness
1 year agoBoston Red Sox left-hander Chris Sale (shoulder) was removed from Thursday's game against the Cincinnati Reds with left shoulder soreness. The trainers visited the 34-year-old during the fourth inning and eventually pulled him from the game. He allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk while striking out six across 3 2/3 innings before exiting. The severity of Sale's injury is unknown, and he is considered day-to-day. Sale has been limited to just 48 1/3 innings from 2021-22 due to injuries. The southpaw will undergo further evaluation after the game, but it's unclear if Sale will require an IL stint. Stay tuned for more updates.
