Chris Sale Earns Win Thursday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox left-handed pitcher Chris Sale took a step in the right direction Thursday, picking up the win against the Detroit Tigers. Sale looked to be heading for another disaster after allowing three runs in his first three innings of work but locked it down after that. His final line is mediocre; he completed five innings while allowing four hits and three walks. He did manage to strike out seven batters, a number fantasy managers will be happy with. Sale's velocity was down in this one, averaging just 91.5 mph on his sinker. It is something to keep an eye on, but otherwise, this was a positive start after getting pummeled in his first outing.
