6 years agoHouston Rockets point guard Chris Paul was back in double figures on Thursday against Utah, finishing with 12 points, but it wasn't a good outing as the Jazz ended up blowing the Rockets out 118-91. CP3 shot 5-for-11 from the field in 25 minutes on the floor, dishing out five assists while committing five turnovers as well. He missed both of his attempts from deep. Paul's mechanics have been all wrong since he returned to the lineup on Nov. 30, as he's shooting just 21.7 percent from deep in four games. He has a good matchup on Saturday against the Mavs, who don't do well against opposing point guard, but it's very hard to trust him at present.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoSan Antonio Spurs point guard Chris Paul (thumb) is expected to remain in the lineup on Thursday versus Utah, with the team listing him as probable for the game. The veteran floor general hurt his left thumb against Oklahoma City but was able to finish the contest. It looks like it's not a very serious injury, and Paul will be good to go for Thursday's juicy matchup -- only Chicago and Washington have allowed more fantasy points to opposing points guards than Utah. Paul has bagged three double-doubles in his last five appearances, averaging 10.7 points and 8.5 assists for the season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

5 months agoPer Michael C. Wright of ESPN, San Antonio Spurs point guard Chris Paul will make his preseason debut on Wednesday after signing a one-year, $11 million contract with the team in the offseason. Paul's production has dipped significantly after being in the league for almost 20 years. He played in 58 games for Golden State in last year's campaign, averaging 9.2 points, 6.8 assists, and 1.2 steals. The 39-year-old's presence will be essential for the development of center Victor Wembanyama and the other young players on the team.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

9 months agoFree agent guard Chris Paul will sign a one-year, $11 million contract with the San Antonio Spurs. After being in the league for nearly two decades, Paul's production has dipped significantly. He appeared in 58 games for the Warriors last season, finishing with averages of 9.2 points, 6.8 assists, and 1.2 steals. While the 39-year-old likely won't be a consistent producer for the up-and-coming Spurs, his presence will be invaluable for the development of reigning Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama and the rest of the young players on a team hoping at least to earn a Play-In bid in 2024-25.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

9 months agoGolden State Warriors guard Chris Paul has agreed to push back the date to his $30 million guaranteed contract for the 2024-2025 season. The veteran guard will push back the date until late Sunday night. Doing that gives the Warriors a chance to explore trade partners for the All-Star guard. Paul certainly isn't in his prime anymore, but he can still contribute to an NBA roster. He should still be able to be a viable fantasy option depending on what team decides to pick him up.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
