Chris Paddack Shows Increased Velocity In Return
4 years agoSan Diego Padres pitcher Chris Paddack made his return to the mound after a short stint on the injured list this past Sunday against the San Francisco Giants. Paddack pitched three scoreless innings and allowed four hits and one walk while striking out four. The surface numbers were extremely positive given his early struggles this year. He had a 5.40 ERA over 23.1 innings in April. The most promising development this weekend may have been his fastball velocity. His four-seamer has had an average velocity of 94.6 mph this year, but he was clocked at 97 mph at one point on Sunday. We'll see if he's able to build off of Sunday's solid outing. His next start will be on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
