6 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Chris Paddack collected his first career win Wednesday, spinning seven innings of one-hit ball against the Seattle Mariners. Paddack’s gem included nine strikeouts, a hit batter and just one walk as he breezed through a high-powered Seattle offense. After five starts, the 23-year-old rookie holds a superb 1.67 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 10.0 K/9. The Padres No. 5 prospect has been as good as advertised, allowing more than one run in only one outing while carrying a 3.8 strikeout-to-walk ratio. His season-long fantasy value may be impaired due to innings limitations down the stretch, but for now he is approved for use in all formats.
