5 years agoFollowing his brief, week-long stint in the minors, San Diego Padres pitcher Chris Paddack returned to the mound on Saturday and turned in a decent outing, pitching five innings and allowing five hits, three walks and two earned runs while striking out one. Apart from the low strikeout total, the game was business-as-usual for Paddack, who now has a 3.18 ERA and 1.00 WHIP on the year with 73 strikeouts in 70 2/3 innings. The Padres are going to be cautious about Paddack's innings the rest of the year. If you can find a trading partner who values Paddack as a top-30 starting pitcher, you may want to explore that option. As long as he's on the mound, he should provide a lot of help in ratios, but he's only gone six innings or more in five of his 13 starts this year and that greatly reduces his win potential and overall strikeout numbers.
