Chris Ellis Has His Next Start Pushed Back
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher Chris Ellis (arm) is dealing with arm fatigue and he will not be making his scheduled start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. The team will go with a bullpen game on Tuesday instead. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told the media that Ellis is being pushed back "a couple of days." The 28-year-old right-hander has pitched well since being claimed off waivers in late August. Over five starts, he's posted a 2.82 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. However, he hasn't pitched past the fifth inning in any of his starts with the Orioles yet and he's averaging just 5.6 K/9.
