Chris Davis Batting Leadoff On Opening Day
7 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis will bat first on Opening Day. Yes, it's unconventional, but manager Buck Showalter likes to challenge the norm. The stakes aren't as high for Thursday, but it's still a different look. Davis, who struggled in '17, might be more focused in this spot. It's not permanent yet, though. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out. Craig Gentry and Pedro Alvarez are also both playing Thursday due to Twins starter Jake Odorizzi's reverse splits. Davis isn't a great on-base guy, but his fantasy value will see a slight boost if he sticks in the leadoff spot.
