Chris Carson Officially Out For Season
5 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson (hip) suffered a fractured hip in Week 16 and is out for the season. It's a particularly crushing blow for Seattle after they also lost C.J. Prosise (arm) for the season in the same game. Rashaad Penny (knee) tore his ACL two weeks ago, leaving just Travis Homer in this backfield for now. Seattle is expected to reunite with Marshawn Lynch and could also add one of Robert Turbin or C.J. Anderson to give them more depth in the backfield heading into Week 17 against the 49ers and into the postseason. As of now, this backfield situation is fluid, and we can't expect Beast Mode to come in right away and dominate against a tough San Fran defense. As for Carson, he was a solid RB1 all season and finishes with 278 carries for 1,230 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. He added 37 receptions for 266 yards and another two scores from the air. Fumbling remains an issue, but he should return to being a strong RB1 next year if he fully recovers from this hip injury.
