Chris Buescher Scores A Third-Place Finish
2 years agoIt was a day to forget for Chris Buescher, until it wasn't. Buescher followed RFK teammate Brad Keselowski's lead early on in the GEICO 500. The teammates were not happy with the Ford team's inability to work together, so they chose to stay near the back of the field. After qualifying 10th, Buescher fell back to 24th at the end of Stage 1. This strategy continued through Stage 2, as he worked with his teammate in the back for the field to finish 31st. However, throughout the final stage, he was able to make his way to the front and avoid the wrecks. Most importantly, he navigated his way through as Bubba Wallace spun and took out several of the leaders. The move ultimately helped Buescher secure his best finish of the season in third.
