Chris Buescher Has Sneaky Upside This Weekend
58 seconds agoChris Buescher has never finished better than ninth at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 16 career Cup Series starts, but that doesn't mean that there isn't upside for the Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing driver in the Pennzoil 400 this weekend. The No. 17 Ford was actually one of the fastest Fords here at Las Vegas last season, although the finishes don't reflect that. In the spring race last year, Buescher had a loose wheel that derailed his race early, and in the fall event, it became a fuel mileage race and the No. 17 Ford wound up 10th when it was all said and done. At Kansas last season--which is the sister track of Las Vegas--Buescher nearly won the first race and ended up finishing 11th in the fall despite starting back in 25th. This weekend in Vegas, the No. 17 Ford was 10th-fastest in practice with the 16th-best 10-lap average. Buescher will start from 11th-place when the Pennzoil 400 goes green and could challenge for a top-10 finish. In DFS, he's a tournament option at $7,400. Use sparingly or as a pivot.
