Chris Bassitt Receives Stitches And Undergoes Tests
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Chris Bassitt (head) was taken to the hospital on Tuesday night after he was hit in the head by a comebacker in Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox. Athletics manager Bob Melvin told the media that Bassitt received some stitches and underwent tests to detect potential fractures. Melvin said that Bassitt's eye doesn't appear to be of concern, but rather the area below his eye. We should know more about the test results soon. Bassitt is in the midst of a strong season. Over 25 starts, he has gone 12-4 with a 3.22 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP.
