Chris Bassitt Ready To Pitch Out Of The Bullpen Wednesday
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt is going to be ready to pitch out of the bullpen if needed for Wednesday afternoon's must-win Game 2 of the Wild Card series versus the Minnesota Twins. The Blue Jays have their backs against the wall following a 3-1 loss on Tuesday while Bassitt added that he's "pretty comfortable" coming out of the bullpen. Jose Berrios is the Game 2 starter for Toronto but he will have a short leash if he struggles early. Bassitt has 13 career relief outings, but zero since the beginning of the 2020 season. The 34-year-old worked to a 3.60 ERA across 33 starts and an even 200 innings in his first season with the Blue Jays in 2023.
