Chris Archer To Start Tuesday For Tampa Bay, Blake Snell On Wednesday
7 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays will take advantage of the postponed game versus the Yankees on Monday to reorder their rotation for the next few games. Starter Chris Archer will start the first game of the series Tuesday while Blake Snell will pitch the second game of the series Wednesday. This is a great break for the Rays, who were going to have to go with Austin Pruitt on Monday against a powerful Yankees offense. Archer is an elite strikeout pitcher who has had at least 233 each of the past three seasons. Snell just recently turned 25 years old but already has 218 1/3 innings pitched in the majors. The most obvious strength of Snell's young career are his 217 strikeouts, showing that he is a power pitcher that can make a difference in fantasy lineups. Snell is more of a fifth fantasy starter with plenty of upside for fantasy. The Yankees are still a tough opponent but these two pitchers present an improved chance for the Rays.
