Chris Archer Picks Up First Victory
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer (1-1) allowed four runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three over five innings in Saturday's 11-4 victory over the Twins. He picked up his first win of the season. The 32-year-old labored through five innings and walked a season-high four batters on Saturday. Archer was hurt by the long ball and surrendered home runs to Jorge Polanco and Miguel Sano. He threw 78 pitches, firing 46 for strikes. The Rays right-hander owns a 5.28 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 19 strikeouts over 15 1/3 innings in 2021. Archer can be used as a streamer in deep-league formats for his next start on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers.
