Chris Archer Has Been A Major Disappointment
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Chris Archer has been a major disappointment this season. Expected to be the ace of the staff when acquired from Tampa Bay at midseason last year, the 34-year-old righty is 1-5 with career highs in both ERA (5.75) and WHIP (1.54) over just 40 2/3 innings. Archer has recorded two quality starts, as he has gone over five innings just twice in eight starts. Furthermore, the two-time All-Star has permitted 22 earned runs and six homers to go along with a 16:17 K:BB ratio over his last five starts. Archer will once again get the ball on Friday in an extremely tough matchup against Milwaukee. You should seriously consider benching him for this start.
