Chris Archer Feels Good After Playing Catch Friday
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer (abdominal strain) played catch Friday and felt good. It is another step forward towards getting him back on the mound which is a necessary part of getting back to playing in games. He recently took a step back due to soreness so his recovery has fallen off the original desired timeline. Archer has pitched over 200 innings each of the past three seasons and has struck out at least 233 batters in each season. The troubling part is that his ERA has been just over 4.00 the last two seasons and his win-loss record has been 19-31 those two seasons. Speaking of ERA, his 2018 number sits at 4.29, though it had been at 5.64 before his last three outings. He has the upside to be a strong fantasy asset, but the weakness of the Rays will impact his winning potential.
