Chiefs Talk With TreVeyon Henderson
51 seconds agoThe Kansas City Chiefs conducted a virtual call with Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Head coach Andy Reid was part of the call. Henderson has been rising up mock-draft boards with the start of the draft now just a day away, and the Chiefs could be looking for more explosiveness to their backfield. The 22-year-old could very easily come off the board in this year's draft in the first round, and the Chiefs hold the No. 31 overall pick. They brought back Kareem Hunt in the offseason behind starter Isaiah McKenzie and also signed Elijah Mitchell for more RB depth, but Henderson would surely give KC more explosiveness to their backfield and would likely be considered an immediate upgrade over the aging Hunt and injury-prone Mitchell. In addition to averaging 7.0 yards per attempt in 2024, Henderson caught 77 passes in his collegiate career.
