Chase Meidroth Scratched With Thumb Injury
18 seconds agoThe Chicago White Sox have scratched infield prospect Chase Meidroth (thumb) due to a thumb injury. The 23-year-old was initially listed as the starting shortstop and was batting in the leadoff spot. Meidroth was promoted to the major leagues earlier this week and was in the starting lineup in each of the previous eight games. During his first taste of the big leagues, Meidroth has posted a .269/.387/.269 line with a seven total hits (all singles) with a 4:5 K:BB. Fantasy managers should monitor Meidroth's status leading up to their game against the Red Sox on Monday. This afternoon, Meidroth will be replaced by Jacob Amaya, and he will bat in the nine-hole. Meidroth is worth targeting on waivers in deeper formats this week as he appears to have an everyday spot in the lineup.
