Chase Elliott Will Start Third at Martinsville
11 months agoHendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott will start third after qualifying for the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville. This marks Elliott's first top-3 start at Martinsville since 2022 and his second week in a row starting in that range this year. Elliott is one of the more consistent drivers in the field at Martinsville with one win and 10 top-10 finishes in 17 races there. This includes six top-10 finishes in his last eight races at Martinsville, while Elliott led in six Cup events in that span. Through seven races so far this year, Elliott has two top-10 finishes, both of which came at short tracks. The driver of the No. 9 Chevrolet also is one of only three drivers to place in the Top 20 in every race so far this season. In practice, Elliott ranked 13th of all drivers in overall lap averages but showcased that his car is better suited for longer runs as his 30 consecutive lap average ranked eighth. With Elliott's results picking up in recent races this year and Martinsville being one of his best tracks historically, look for him to be one of the top drivers of the week quietly.

Is Chase Elliott Worth Rostering At Phoenix This Week For DFS?
1 week agoHendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott will start sixth for this week's Shriners Children's 500 at Phoenix Raceway. This will mark the fourth time since 2022 that Elliott will have a top-10 starting position at Phoenix. In 17 races at the site, Elliott has one win and nine top-10 finishes, including an eighth-place finish in his last appearance during the November 2024 Cup event. In practice, Elliott ranked 19th in overall lap average and displayed top-20 speeds in all other categories. Despite the promising qualifying run and Elliott's solid stats at Phoenix, his practice speeds and lower upside combined with a high salary ($9,500 on DraftKings) make him best suited for tournament lineups only for DFS.

Chase Elliott Recovers From Lap 1 Spinout To Finish Fourth
2 weeks agoAfter starting third, Chase Elliott's race at Austin spun out of control literally after a bump from Ross Chastain dropped him to 36th. After making repairs on the Stage 1 caution, he didn't catch up to the field in time as he restarted over 10 seconds behind the other lead lap cars in Stage 2. Nonetheless, the Stage 2 caution allowed him to make a frantic charge as he drove from 30th on the lap 49 caution to eventually finish 4th after passing a faltering Kyle Busch on the last lap. Although many people expected Elliott to spin Chastain out once he caught up to him, Chastain was smart for once and decided to let Elliott through unimpeded. Elliott improved from 10th in points to a tie for 4th with race winner Christopher Bell.

Chase Elliott Can Win This Weekend
3 weeks agoDon't be surprised if Chase Elliott contends for the Ambetter Health 400 victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend. The Hendrick Motorsports driver has been one of the best at this track since it was repaved and reconfigured prior to the 2022 season, as Chase has the third-best average finish (8.6) and driver rating (97.7) over that three-year span. This weekend, Elliott qualified back in 19th-place, but that's not a bad thing at all. In fact, it actually makes him an even more attractive option on DraftKings, as he now has pretty high potential for Place Differential FPTS as well. At $9,500 on the DFS site, Chase should be one of the core drivers in a good portion of your lineups this weekend.
