Chase Elliott Starts Third At Homestead On Sunday
2 years agoChase Elliott missed out on Row 1 by a mere 0.001 seconds in qualifying on Saturday. Elliott was the second of the three Hendrick Motorsports Racing cars in the top five. He was the last car to break 166 mph on a qualifying lap as well. The No. 9 car has finished in the top five once and the top ten as well. Elliott has even led 3.9% of the laps since 2019. All of that means little now, however. He begins Sunday 17 points over the cutline. The key in getting to Phoenix is accumulating points or winning a race. Elliott is in position to do both possible on Sunday at Homestead.
