Chase Elliott Looking To Survive Talladega Carnage
2 years agoChase Elliott was performing well for Hendrick Motorsports Racing last week at Texas when disaster struck as the blown tires and engine issues were just pandemic last Sunday. Elliott's tire just went at the wrong time while leading. The No. 9 car has had a bit better of a fate the last couple of seasons on the 2.66-mile track. He won in April of 2019 while leading 45 laps. In the new Next-Gen car, Elliott started 28th, charged up the field, got as high as second, then fell back on a bad line to seventh at the end. His Chevy has the speed in the middle portions of the race but late-race pace was questionable in the final turns.
