1 year agoChase Elliott excels at moving up a field on a road course. He does have four wins in his past 15 road races but 2022 was a different story. However, at Sonoma, Elliott has a runner-up and eighth to his resume post-pandemic. Starting tenth for Sunday's race is not a bad thing for the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver. He still led 26 laps last year and 13 the year before. The No. 9 Chevy can gain tenths of a second on medium and longer-length runs. Again, how many of those will there be?
