Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott will start from the pole in Sunday's Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Elliott and the No. 9 team enter the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs fifth in standings after Elliott won two races in the 2020 regular season. After a mid-season slump, Elliott has kicked it into gear, scoring a win and six top-10 finishes over the last seven Cup races. Elliott comes back to Darlington Raceway with some unfinished business. After finishing fourth in the first race of the May double-header, Elliott was challenging for the win when he was hooked by Kyle Busch and finished 38th. Elliott led 28 laps in that race, and it appeared he was a lap or two away from taking the lead before his accident. Elliott is pricey in DFS, despite having no position differential upside, but it would not be a surprise to see the No. 9 lead a good portion of the race. There are better valued-drivers to select, but Elliott has the potential to be a great lineup choice.--John Pitucci - RotoBaller
