Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott once again found himself in a position to win at Darlington Raceway but was wrecked for the second time this year, battling for the lead. Leading with 15 laps to go, Martin Truex Jr. got a huge run down the front stretch and barreled it into turn one, causing both drivers to hit the wall hard. Elliott would limp around to finish in 20th-place. Elliott started from the pole and had a strong start, leading most of the first stage. After a brush with the wall and a poor pit stop, Elliott spent the rest of the night trying to regain track position. Catching a late caution at the right time, Elliott took the last restart from the lead and held off Truex until their incident. Elliott led a total of 114 laps on the night, making the poor finish sting even more.--John Pitucci - RotoBaller
