3 years agoChase Elliott, through performance metrics, is on the pole for Sunday's Quaker State 400 at Atlanta. The Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver righted things with a road win last Sunday in Wisconsin where he led 24 laps. After the mess in Pocono (finished outside the top-ten both times) and the Nashville disqualification for lugnuts, Elliott needed a result. The No. 9 did not fare well the last time at Atlantic with a blown engine derailing his day after 220 laps. With being on the pole, Elliott should lead some laps.
