Chase Dollander Stumbles In Latest Outing
1 hour agoColorado Rockies starting pitching prospect Chase Dollander allowed two hits and five earned runs across 1 2/3 innings in his latest spring start. He allowed four free passes and tallied just one punchout. Through 6 2/3 innings in spring training, the budding ace has held a 12.15 ERA with a 1.80 WHIP. He has served up five free passes with just eight punchouts. The Tennessee product is currently competing for a spot in the starting rotation, but given his struggles, the team may opt to slow his development. Last season, the 23-year-old made his professional debut. Through 70 innings at High-A, Dollander posted a 2.83 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP. Then at Double-A, the former ninth overall pick posted a strong 2.25 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP across 48 frames. If he were to open the season in the minor leagues, he will likely make his Triple-A debut and be a popular stash candidate in all standard formats.
