Chase DeLauter Beginning Rehab Assignment
3 months agoCleveland Guardians outfield prospect Chase DeLauter (toe) began a rehab assignment at the Arizona Complex League on July 20. DeLauter has logged only 17 games this season at Double-A as he battled a broken foot earlier this season and was more recently diagnosed with turf toe. The top prospect in the Guardians system posted an excellent .355/.417/.528 line with five home runs, 39 RBI, and six stolen bases last summer across High and Double-A. In his first rehab game, the former 16th overall pick went 1-for-3 with a single and two runs. DeLauter is one of the top outfield prospects in baseball and could even push for a late-season major league debut if he recovers well from his recent injury.
