4 months agoChase Briscoe still only qualified in the middle of the pack at Indianapolis. The Stewart-Haas Racing driver will begin 20th for the Brickyard 400 on Sunday afternoon. His practice speed was below average. Briscoe was well above 51 seconds in his lap time and did not run more than five laps. His qualifying lap was above 50 seconds on the 2.5-mile oval. Maybe long-run speed from the field slows enough to allow Briscoe the chance to move up on Sunday. His best ally may be attrition on the famed track. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
