Chase Briscoe Can Be An Intriguing Tournament Play For Homestead
4 weeks agoFor this week's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Chase Briscoe will start the race from the 13th position, a new career-best starting position at the site. In three previous starts at Homestead, Briscoe's best finish is 17th, and he placed in the top 20 twice with a positive Place Differential. With 33 races completed this season so far, Briscoe has one win and nine top-10 finishes, with his last one being collected at Bristol back in September. At 1.5-mile Intermediate tracks this year, Briscoe has struggled with only one top-10 finish and no positive Place Differential gathered at the track type. In practice, Briscoe ranked 11th in overall lap averages while ranking 13th in 15 and 20 consecutive lap averages, 11th in 25 consecutive lap averages, and sixth in 30 consecutive lap averages. Briscoe's track history at Homestead and struggles at intermediate tracks make him a difficult driver to recommend for most DFS formats. Briscoe, however, can still be recommended for tournament games as a contrarian play due to his solid practice speeds indicating a finish around his starting position with the potential to place inside the Top 10.
