Charlie Morton's Potential Win Spoiled Monday
1 year agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Charlie Morton pitched well but had a win bid dashed in Monday's 6-5 extra-innings loss to the Tigers. The 39-year-old pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing no runs on four hits and three walks with eight strikeouts. However, Raisel Iglesias could not close things out with a three-run lead, ending in an eventual loss. While his 3.60 ERA and 10.20 K/9 rate look solid overall, Morton has been inconsistent at times throughout the season. He will have the opportunity to build off of this strong start in his next scheduled start at home against the Rockies.
