Charlie Morton Earns Ninth Win Of Season Tuesday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Charlie Morton helped clinch the team's fifth straight playoff appearance in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Nationals. Morton pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on three hits and three walks with nine strikeouts. The veteran has had a frustrating season, going 9-6 with a 4.09 ERA and a 10.82 K/9 rate over 29 starts and 163 IP. Morton has allowed four runs in two of his September starts and one each in his other two. His next matchup will be a tough one at the Phillies. Fantasy managers can hope they get the good version of Morton, but with so much on the line they could also play it safe and sit him if they have other strong pitching options.
