Charlie Morton Doesn't Go Deep
3 years agoAtlanta Braves starter Charlie Morton was unable to get through five innings in his start on Thursday against the Blue Jays. The Braves ultimately lost 8-4, with Morton's allowing three of those runs across 4 2/3 innings. This start once again moved the hurler's ERA north of five ultimately settling at 5.08 to go along with a 1.44 WHIP. With each passing start, it is becoming more and more apparent that the 2021 version of Morton is far closer in performance to 2020 than his All-Star seasons of 2019 and 2018. Fantasy managers looking to deal for a starter with some long-term upside might want to steer clear of the 37-year-old hurler. At some point, starters hit an age where they become just as guy, and it looks like Morton is at that point. Tread carefully as his value is not looking likely to rebound.
