Charlie Blackmon To Start Rehab Assignment Tuesday
2 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon (hand) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. Blackmon will play on Tuesday and Wednesday as he attempts to rejoin the major-league roster after landing on the injured list on July 11 with a fractured right hand. The 37-year-old is no longer in his prime, but he still plays at Coors Field and hits near the top of the batting order, which makes him worth rostering in deep-mixed leagues when he's healthy. The four-time All-Star will be returning to a .265/.347/.422 slash line, and he's also produced five home runs, 14 doubles, two triples, 26 RBI and 34 runs scored in 242 trips to the plate over 56 games played.
