Charlie Blackmon May Run More
6 years agoThe Colorado Rockies have officially moved outfielder Charlie Blackmon to right field now that they've successfully quit Carlos Gonzalez (he signed with Cleveland). Part of the reason for the move is to attempt to save Blackmon's legs as he enters his age-32 season, and that may actually bode well for fantasy owners. Blackmon's morphed from a 5-tool threat to more of a 4.5-tool threat over the last few years as he's moved from stealing 43 bases in 2015 to just 12 in 2018. By making the move to right field and limiting his running in the field, it may open up more possibilities for him to swipe some more bags. Either way, he's still one of the most valuable all-around contributors in fantasy baseball, and he should be a solid early-round draft choice for the next couple of years.
